Tom strongly believes that the self-righteous name-calling being done by national leaders on both sides is counterproductive. It is insulting and demeaning. Over the last 236 years, thousands upon thousands of Americans have given their lives so people could have the freedom to voice their opinions about their government.

Just because people oppose massive borrowing and spending, Obamacare, national healthcare, and higher taxes, does not make them “un-American.” There are few things more “American” than making one’s views on the issues of the day known to our elected officials – that is why Tom has conducted more than 75 public town hall meetings, hosted tele-town calls, and has an open policy in terms of communications.

We may disagree on issues, but we are all Americans – and we must solve our problems together. The crisis upon us is no different than the generational crises of the past. To overcome and survive this impending crisis, it is critical we unite as a nation.
