Tom Reed today issued the following statement regarding Gov. Mitt Romney choosing Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate:

“I am energized by Governor Romney’s choice of Paul Ryan to be his running mate. I have gotten to know Paul well as we serve together on the Ways and Means Committee. Paul Ryan is a man of courage and foresight who is willing to honestly debate and identify solutions to the dire financial crisis that our nation faces.

I believe that Gov. Romney’s bold selection will elevate the debate above petty personal attacks and illustrate the stark contrast between two very different visions for the future of the United States: the Romney/Ryan vision for a future of smaller, more accountable government and a growing economy with more jobs and career opportunities versus an opposing vision that will mean deeper debt, more intrusive government and diminished opportunity.
